Report 6th ANQ Congress
 (Quality People - Key to Excellence)

The 6th Asian Network for Quality Congress was held at Bangkok, Thailand from 28th to 31st October 2008.

The Congress was attended by Over 400 delegates from Bangladesh, China, Chinese-Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lao PDR, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, UK, Vietnam and Thailand. 

A total of 190 technical papers were presented during the 5 concurrent sessions by oral, poster and satellite presentations held on 29th & 30th October 2008.

The conference was opened by H.E. Air Chief Marshal Kamthon Sindhvananda, Privy Counselor.

The keynote address were delivered by Mr. Kant Trakulhoon, President & CEO of Siam Cement Public Company, Dr. Chitrapongse Kwangsukstith, C.O.O. of PTT PTT Public Company, Prof. Shu-Kai S. Fan, CSQ, Prof, Yoshinori lizuka, JSQC, Mr. Kaphong Choi, KSQM. 

Concurrent sessions for the presentation of Technical papers covered the topics of People Leadership, Customer - driven excellence, Quality People - Valuing & Development, Innovation - future driven, Social Responsibility, Quality Management and Process Excellence.

Technical papers have been presented in this congress, not only in conventional practice, but these are also poster session, satellite session and ARE-QP presentation,  

Closing ceremony has been started by keynote addresses, Mr. Janak Metha, ISQ followed by Prof. Dr. Nariaki Kano  , ANQ Honorary Chair person on the topic of “Let’s revisit what PDCA cycle means in today’s IT age” The report on 6th ANQ Congress was delivered by Dr. Pirom Chamsai, Chairman of Organizing Committee .Award presentation on Best paper award, ARE-QP and Foundation of TQM Awards.

Closing remarks by Dr. Paritud Bhandhubanyong, President-Foundation of TQM-Thailand JSQC presented the invitation to 7th ANQ Congress of which to be held in Tokyo, Japan during 15-18 September 2009.The last event on 30th October 2008 was farewell dinner. Most of the participants enjoyed Thai food serving and voluntary shows from ANQ members.On 31st October 2008, around 100 delegates from Asian counties visited Thai Ceramic Co.,Ltd. for Industrial business and Bangkok hospital Pcl. for service business site visit. 

The 6th ANQ Congress and the 9th Symposium on TQM Best practices in Thailand come to a successful end with a cultural program and dinner for quest on 30th October 2008.
